Aligning Assessments to Objectives
Grant Wiggins wrote in Assessment as Feedback "If our aim is to improve student performance, not just measure it, we must ensure that students know the performances expected of them, the standards against which they will be judged, and have opportunities to learn from the assessment in future assessments." In this document, I aligned the assessments to objectives of the modules. In keeping with the principles of Universal Design for Learning, varied methods of assessments were chosen. Some of the assessments, such as creating a nursing care plan for a client, will be used for evaluation and assigned a grade. But most will be used as learning activities with feedback to allow the student to construct learning by doing.
