Student Assessment:  Rubrics

Using rubrics in education is recommended for both assessment and evaluation in student learning.  Providing the project rubric to students as they begin the learning process gives them the opportunity to self-assess as they progress through the module.   In addition, the rubric reinforces the salient points of the tutorial included as a learning activity within this particular course.  Once the students have submitted the final copy of their project to faculty, the rubric will provide consistency among faculty evaluating the final project.

The rubric presented was developed using Rubistar, a free resource.
