Nursing Care Plan Activity Sample

This activity is a part of Module 3: Client Assessment and Care Planning.  The responsibility of assessment and care planning is a primary function of the RN.  The LVN can carry out certain nursing functions but is not educated to plan care.  In this activity, the student will use data obtained from a review of records, a interview and examination of the client and research into one health condition identified.  While it is a "Do" activity, it is also a "Connect" activity as mapping the findings helps the student make connections among the findings. I am concerned that learning to use the mapping software, if unknown to the student, may overshadow the learning expected from this activity.  Because of that I could allow hand written maps or maybe have a simple, directed activity in the classroom setting that uses mapping software as a supervised practice for the students.
